I visited my cousin MJ in Europe in December, 1965. We began with a side trip to Worms to visit a former high school classmate. On our main trip we drove from Stuttgart over the snowy Alps to Venice, and then on to Rome. From there, we took a bus tour to Sorrento and the Isle of Capri.  We left the car in Rome and traveled by train back to Stuttgart, then took another short trip to visit friends in Kassel.

Stuttgart

Through the Alps to Italy
  we drove from Stuttgart to Garmisch, with the Zugspitze in the background... we drove a VW Beatle over the Alps in winter... in Garmisch... then from Garmisch to Innsbruck, Austria and over the Brenner Pass to Bolzano, Italy... our hotel in Bolzano... MJ on an icy mountain road... "Hang on Snoopy" MJ showing the bottle of wine we kept in the car... on the way to Venice the terrain flattens out... a foggy morning... To Sorrento and Capri
